VASILY
POPOV

Word, paint, blockchain

Working at the intersection of poetry, painting, and digital technologies. A canvas gets painted the same way a line gets written — fast, with spray paint, dated in the corner. In 2022 he became the first in the world to send an NFT painting into space, to the ISS.

Born in Angarsk. His path into art began with dance — until the gift of poetry unexpectedly revealed itself.

Today Vasily explores the boundary between word and image, working across street art, painting, and digital technology. His inspiration comes from people — their energy, emotion, movement — and from the word itself, a mediator between the visible and the invisible.

The "Entities Meta" series, launched in 2021, investigates the multilayered nature of the human being — its digital and spiritual dimensions. It combines street art, NFTs, and acrylic painting into a dialogue between modernity and eternity.

He has personally met Elon Musk, whose vision of the future inspires him to push the boundaries of art and technology.

The Space Project

Art beyond Earth

The project reinterprets memory and soul in the era of digital data — a new ritual and mythology where value is born from the uniqueness of experience and cryptographic verification on the blockchain.

"Cosmonaut"

A painting in space

In March 2022, the painting "Cosmonaut" was sent on a six-month expedition to the International Space Station. In October 2022, after the completion of the 67th expedition, the canvas returned to Earth.

Following its return, the painting became a key exhibit at an NFT exhibition in St. Petersburg. The artist was later convinced to put "Cosmonaut" up for sale at a private auction.

Blue light is celestial Blue light is divine Lying on the back See the skies that shine. You got a piece of orange You shared one with me And only skies were watching Wherever we might be.
